The dog has evolved as a carnivore with a natural need for nutrition with varied fresh meat and fish supplemented with small amounts of vegetables, fruits and grasses. Acana Heritage is made largely from nutrients naturally present in the ingredients; synthetic additives are kept to a minimum. Young dogs need a high-protein diet during their growth period. For this reason, Acana Heritage Puppy & Junior consists of 70% ingredients that are high in protein; free-range chicken, free-range eggs and wild-caught flatfish. Puppy & Junior is suitable for puppies weighing between nine and twenty-five kilos when fully grown. For smaller breed puppies there is Acana Puppy Small Breed Heritage, for larger breeds Acana Puppy Large Breed Heritage.
