The dog has evolved as a carnivore, with a natural need for a diet of varied fresh meat and fish supplemented with small amounts of vegetables, fruits and grasses. Acana Heritage is made largely from nutrients naturally present in the ingredients; synthetic additives are kept to a minimum. Overweight dogs may benefit from protein-rich diets. Acana Light & Fit Dog consists of 65% fresh meat and fresh fish; free-range chicken and wild-caught flatfish. Also, this diet is low in carbohydrates, calories and fat to help control the dog's weight. Light & Fit is suitable for all adult dogs (from 1 year of age).
